Background Removal (AI)
ML-powered background removal is now available via bg-remove=1. Includes shadow preservation, feathering, threshold control, and custom replacement colours. Works across both Imgix and ImageBoss URL styles.
Privacy Region Blur
Blur or pixelate specific regions of an image for privacy compliance. Useful for license plates, faces in backgrounds, or sensitive data in screenshots.
Custom Domains with Auto-SSL
Serve images from your own domain. Just add a CNAME record — SSL certificates are provisioned and renewed automatically via Let's Encrypt.
Multi-Tenant SaaS Mode
Full multi-tenant isolation with per-tenant API keys, rate limits, usage analytics, and source management. Power your own image CDN product on top of Image Foundry.
Face Detection API
New /~faces.json endpoint returns bounding boxes for detected faces in any image. Powers smart-crop with crop=faces and fit=facearea.
AVIF Support & Auto-Format
AVIF output is now production-ready. Auto-format detection serves AVIF to supported browsers (Chrome 100+, Firefox 93+) with WebP fallback.
Interactive Image Editor
The landing page now includes a live, interactive image editor. Experiment with all transformation options in real-time — every change generates a shareable URL.
Imgix + ImageBoss Dual URL Support
Use either Imgix-style query parameters or ImageBoss-style path segments. Both formats are fully supported on the same instance.
Initial Launch
Image Foundry v1.0 — real-time image CDN with resize, crop, filters, text overlays, watermarks, signed URLs, and support for S3, GCS, Azure, and HTTP proxy sources. Open source under MIT.
